I bought a pair of sandels in my size but one of the straps that crosses over my foot is short.?

If the shoes were leather this wouldn%26#039;t be a problem but these are 100% man made materials. I just bought the shoes yesterday for an upcoming wedding so if there is no correction for this problem I can always return them to the store since the shoes haven%26#039;t seen outside time yet. I have tried the petroleum jelly trick, checked and rechecked the size and even wore them around the house for awhile hoping to stretch them but I haven%26#039;t seen (or felt) any change in the shoe strap. There is the bandage option but since these sandals have thin straps I don%26#039;t want to do that unless it is a last resort.

Is there some trick for this type of problem or do I need to make a return trip to the store?

take them back

or wear foot liners to reduce the friction between the straps and your foot, i find some lace foot liners which match with sandels: http://www.feelsonice.com/footliners.htm...
Reply:Take them back before you break the strap with all that pulling and stretching and petroleum jelly (!?)
Reply:Take them back - why did you buy them in the first place without trying them on to see if they fit?

Yeah, I sometimes try on only one shoe to decide if I like them. This actually sounds like a fault in the shoe. Definately take them back and explain nicely that you didn%26#039;t notice it till you got home. They may have another pair in the same size without the flaw. Besides, at this wedding you don%26#039;t want all the photos to show you with a grimace instead of a lovely smile - because your feet are killing you. Go on - take them back!
